Dr. Advait Jukar is the Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida. His research spans the last 200 million years of vertebrate evolution, and he’s focused on the evolution of terrestrial ecosystems in the Cenozoic of South Asia, the paleoecology of Mesozoic herbivores, the megafaunal extinction, and the taxonomy and systematics of large vertebrates, particularly in South Asia.
This talk will give a broad overview of the history of vertebrate paleontology in South Asia, and present some new findings on the fossil crocodilian, horses, dinosaurs, and end with a discussion on the future of vertebrate paleontology in India in particular.
