Regional Meetings

While our Annual Meeting attracts more than 1,000 attendees from around the world, the focus of a Regional Meeting is a little different. Regional Meetings provide local development opportunities for those interested in the anatomical sciences. Members and participants have an opportunity to present their scientific and educational research via platform and poster sessions in a smaller (and often more affordable/accessible) setting.

Regional Meeting Objectives

  • Provide national-level programs and benefits to serve members who prefer a smaller venue, wish to hone their presentations and network with local colleagues, or may not be able to attend the Annual Meeting.
  • Provide local development opportunities for those interested in the anatomical sciences, including high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and other researchers.
  • Increase and diversify membership through outreach to underrepresented minorities via historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic serving institutions (HSIs).

Regional Meetings at a Glance

  • Held at a time that does not compete with the Annual Meeting in April
  • Designed as a one-day event, including poster sessions
  • Attracts up to 200 members and nonmembers working in anatomy
