Adam B. Wilson

Candidate Statement: In the book The Way of the Shepherd, the authors highlight that great leadership requires a compassionate heart for people and modeling authenticity, integrity, and high-performance standards. These guiding principles are my philosophical framework for leadership. As an elected Board member, I will draw upon my experiences as an anatomy educator and my measurement and evaluation skillset to help the AAA broaden its data-centric infrastructure for evaluating the organization’s current and evolving strategic goals. Closely monitoring our profession, as well as the organization’s reach and effectiveness, will help to further AAA’s ability to fulfill its mission of advancing the anatomical sciences while anticipating future challenges. As a dynamic mid-career educator and prolific medical education researcher, I will be a strong advocate and voice for AAA’s diverse membership of educators. If elected, I promise to do my part in shepherding the AAA into a promising future of service to its members. Current Position/Institution: Associate Professor and Director of Anatomy Education, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Rush University, Chicago, IL.

Research Interest: Medical and anatomy education research with an emphasis on educational measurement and evaluation.
