I’m working from – My office, with permission, as I don’t have a home office. I’m able to maintain proper isolation, since only one other person is on my floor.

My biggest challenge – Assessment. In an online exam, we can’t maintain security of questions or provide effective feedback.

My research & COVID–19 – My research has always been on student engagement with online resources and the impact on student success, which can continue in this unique situation.

How I stay connected with students – I have about 400 students. We’re communicating through our learning management system (LMS) and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. I hold one-hour drop-in sessions daily for my students to come and ask questions, be social, etc. Many are finding this new method of learning difficult. Time management seems to be their biggest issue.

My lifesaver – Twitter helps me to feel connected.

My guilty pleasures – Sleeping in because I don't need to drop the kids off at school.

Things I look forward to – Right now, going home and sitting in front of the TV and turning my brain off. When this is over, eating out at a restaurant or going to the cinema.
