Proposal Deadline: March 17, 2008
2009 Session Topics
One of the best ways to spruce up your resumé is to get involved with your professional society and make contacts in the research community. An easy way to accomplish both of these objectives is to organize a session for the AAA Annual Meeting.
If you have an idea for a session you’d like to submit to the AAA Program Committee, here's what to do:
- You must be an AAA member to submit a proposal. Not a member? Click here to join.
- Determine if you'd like to organize a symposium or platform session. Read about the difference between symposia, hybrid-symposia and platform sessions. Important: Review the duties and deadlines on this chart to understand the organizer responsibilities.
- Submit a proposal online or by printing the form (details below) by the deadline.
- Please provide AAA with a one-page summary (by email/fax/mail) to include the following:
a) Objectives of your proposed session,
b) Your thoughts on why the topic is timely,
c) 1-2 sentence summary of each talk (for symposia only),
d) Your assessment of AAA member interest,
e) Other positive features (e.g. funding sources, etc.)
- The AAA Program Committee meets on the last day of the Annual Meeting to review all proposals and select those that will be presented at the next Annual Meeting. You will be notified in late May of the status.
